FAQ

- Is it really free?

Yes, it is. Free as in beer (you don't have to pay anything), and free as in speech (you can download the full software for free and do whatever you want with it).
The only thing we ask you on Freeflux.net is not to remove the Google Ads. If you do, we will readd them anyway ;) This of course doesn't apply, if you install Flux CMS on your own server or upgrade to the Pro package.

- Will it ever be free?

Yes, if you sign up now, we will never charge you for this service.

- Do you delete my account, when I don't use it?

Currently, we deactivate accounts which were not used for more than 3 months and don't show much life. You can then easily reactivate the account again with a mouse click and an email confirmation link. If the account is not reactivated after some time (currently also 3 months), it will be deleted. In short, if you don't log into your account for 6 months and didn't post a lot before, its gone.

If you know, that you can't login for quite some time, but do not want to loose the account, just drop us a mail and we will mark your account as "non-deletable"

- Cool stuff, I want to offer such a service to my students/friends/clients. Can you help me?

We have different solutions for you in that case. From "simple" hosting, to customizing it to your needs and even setting up your own box at your place. A lot is possible. just get in contact with us.

- Can I get rid of the ads?

You can buy the ad-free package for 30 Euro/45 sFr. a year and you'll get rid of the ads.

- Can I use a freeflux.net account for my company?

Not the free one, which is for non-commercial use only, but the Pro package. If you're not sure, if you're project is non-commercial, just ask us. We certainly will be able to answer that.

- But I want my company website to run on freeflux.net

Just get the Pro package. It's just 77 Euro/120 sFr. a year.

- Can I get my own domain?

It's in the Pro package.

- I know, that Flux CMS is capable of much more than available on Freeflux.net, can I have those features?

If you miss something, just ask on the forum, if it can be made available. The feature list for the Free package is not set in stone, so we decide what we will add, if there's need. It sometimes also has technical reasons, why we can't make everything available for the Free package.

- Can I edit the PHP code?

You can't. You need a hosting with your own CMS installation for being able to do that. Price starts at 25.- CHF per month for standard hosting package at netzwirt. We will transfer your existing freeflux CMS to that account, of course. And you'll get acces to the whole installation, incl. your own domain and email adresses.

- Can I install Flux CMS by myself?

Sure, as long as you have a provider with decent PHP 5 support. See http://www.flux-cms.org/ for more details. Freeflux.net recommends netzwirt as your hosting provider.

- I have another question...
